When was the last time you turned your phone off, made new friends, created something cool with your hands and raised $ for an amazing non profit ?
Just celebrated 2 years at our Yesaet Studio space in DUMBO this month, during which time I've been meeting most of you wonderful people. I’m now excited to offer Yesaet Live Studio, an intentional space and time to bring amazing people together, allow for free creative flow, joy, smiles and conversation, curated with each of you in mind.
I invite you to slow down, to share, connect and make new friends, to create art, magic, recharge and unwind with us.
Zero Waste weaving
For our first Live Studio, we’re excited to collaborate with Yui, our talented friend and Japanese textile fiber artist. Yui and I will share our fiber art techniques using recycled materials, and inspire you to upcycle your jeans, jacket or something of your choosing.
Yui grew up in Japan where her family always encouraged environmental consciousness and minimized waste. Keeping these traditions allowed her to shape her creative process to produce her work whilst minimizing waste and using resources already available to her.
Through her journey working with fabrics she discovered the fascinating world of weaving. Weaving became a tool to express her deep commitment to craft and zero waste textile art.
We will provide materials, mostly focusing on upcycled blue denim, accent fabrics and cotton/wool yarn.
10% will go to GirlBeHeard, a Brooklyn based non profit that builds young leaders,
activists and changemakers.

What to bring
An old pair of baggy jeans or a denim jacket you may want to renew, or approach this project as fiber art for your home and you won't need to bring anything.
